Registration of The vOICe

Why should I register?
Registration of The vOICe for Windows gives you access to all of its advanced features, even though most features are already available without registration. Moreover, registration is currently free of charge! This free registration is used mainly to monitor interest in The vOICe for Windows. About privacy and spam: you will not be put on any kind of mailing list and your e-mail address will not be passed on or sold to third parties.

Features unlocked through registration currently include stereoscopic vision and brainwave entrainment options, eye-tracker software support, and an experimental sound rendering scheme named "Hesternalization" (listed as a checkbox option in the menu Edit | Soundscape Preferences).

How can I register?
In order to register, simply press the "Register" button in the dialog that pops up via the menu Help | Register The vOICe. This will normally bring up an e-mail message with all the required data in the subject line so that you need not even copy and paste. Apart from this subject line, the body of the e-mail message can be left blank.

Alternatively, or if your browser does not support the above method, you can copy and e-mail your registration identification number (ID No.) and software version number as shown at the top of the dialog window that you get via Help | Register The vOICe, and send it to the author. To avoid any typing errors, the use of regular "copy and paste" is strongly recommended for getting this information from the registration dialog to your e-mail message.

Typically within a day or two (unless the author is on vacation or travelling or otherwise unreachable!) you will receive your personal access code via e-mail. Enter that access code into the corresponding field in the Registration dialog and press OK. Your copy of The vOICe for Windows should from then on indicate that it is registered and you will find all available features enabled.

Remarks and troubleshooting:
The identification number is unique to each computer. Therefore, the access code that you receive will only work for the computer from which you got your identification number.

Troubleshooting, or conceivable reasons why registering through your personal access code might fail:

• Mistakes in copying or typing the registration ID or in entering the returned personal access code. Please check your actions carefully!

• Entering the access code on another PC than the one from which the registration ID was copied: your access code works for only one unique PC.

• Only for versions older than version 1.50: entering the access code for another version of The vOICe for Windows than the one for which the registration ID was sent.

• Installing a new hard disk or re-installing Windows may change the registration ID so that it no longer matches the access code. A new access code will then be required. Check whether your registration ID has changed from the one for which you requested the access code.

• Making manual changes to the Windows registry may change the registration ID so that it no longer matches the access code. A new access code will then be needed. Check whether your registration ID has changed from the one for which you requested the access code.
